SUMMARY:"Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts" Screening
DESCRIPTION:In honor of Veteran’s Day\, the Common Reading Program is screening the 2023 documentary Buffalo Soldiers\, a film directed by Dru Holley that examines the profound and often contradictory roes played by Buffalo Solers in U.S. history. These African American men fought on two sets of front lines: military conflicts abroad and civil rights struggles at home. The film also addresses displacement of Indigenous peoples in the American West by the U.S. military\, including the Buffalo Soldiers. The film features WSU historian Ryan Booth\, who will introduce the film.
