Access Center Book Club Discussion of Care Work: Dreaming Disability Justice

February 17, 2022 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

In Care Work, a collection of essays, Lambda Literary Award-winning and disability justice activist Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarashinha explores the politics and realities of disability justice by mapping access to radical love, a celebration of the work that sick and disabled queer/people of color are doing to find each other and to build power and community.  It is a toolkit for everyone who wants to build radically resilient communities of liberation where no one is left behind. This month’s discussion will feature chapters 1-8, but attendees do not need to have read the book to participate as a summary will be included. The Access Center is also offering WSU students an opportunity to receive a free copy of Care Work based on need and interest in participating in the discussions; see the Access Center website for more information about the book and the book scholarship. Hosted by the Access Center. Registration for discussion: https://accesscenter.wsu.edu/awareness-events/virtual-book-club/2021-2022-book-club/
