Teaching Guide

Welcome to the teaching guide for this year’s Common Reading text, Priya Fielding-Singh’s How the Other Half Eats: The Untold Story of Food and Inequality in America!  We are pleased to share ideas about how you might use the common reading to enhance your work with students, whether in a class, residence hall, advising, or other campus program.  You will find many suggestions incorporated into this guide for ways you might utilize campus resources in your work with students. A full list of resources is included at the end of the guide.

In addition to this guide, be sure to also check the Common Reading calendar page for the latest updates on scheduled speakers and events offered to students outside of classes. Any questions or suggestions should be directed to Karen Weathermon, director of the Common Reading Program, at kweathermon@wsu.edu.
