Amber Wichowsky on “Inequality and Class”

October 19, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

Amber Wichowsky (Marquette University) will talk about the fact that, despite a sharp increase in inequality over the past decades, there has not been an equivalent demand for economic redistribution.  Wichowsky is Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Marquette Democracy Lab.  Her book, The Economic Other: Inequality in the American Political Imagination, examines how Americans use social comparisons to make sense of income inequality and how those frames affect attitudes toward redistribution and political power. Hosted by the Thomas S. Foley Institute for Public Policy and Public Service. YouTube Livestream link: https://youtu.be/V5TV_9ydY-k
