Arlene Dávila on “El Mall: The Class and Spatial Politics of Shopping Malls in LA”

Dávila is a New York University professor of anthropology and American studies. Her work focuses on the global political economy of Latino/Latin American cultures, with a focus on Puerto Ricans in the United States. Her most recent publications include Culture Works: Space, Value, and Mobility Across the Neoliberal Americas and other books focusing on comparative race/ethnic studies, urban studies, and media and visual studies.
