Jobi Martinez (University of Houston) on “Anti-Racism in the Institution”

January 18, 2021

1-2 p.m. (faculty and staff); 5-6 p.m. (students).

Racism continues to persist in higher education and traditional diversity initiatives that focus only on support resources and tolerance training continue to fall short in making lasting change on college and university campuses. Jobi Martinez, a national leader on diversity and inclusion practices, will present information on how to promote change through an anti-racism lens within higher education. The information provided will give participants ideas on how to distribute leadership and institutional power across racial lines and enlighten the WSU community about systemic inequities. Hosted by the Office of Equity and Diversity.
