Dr. Karen’s Thrift Store Walking Tour
September 30, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm
Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of this year’s common reading book Braiding Sweetgrass, urges us to be more attentive to our use of natural resources. One of the ways to do that is to limit consumption of new items through re-homing clothing and household items. An added advantage to this strategy is that thrifting can be lots of fun! Join First-Year Programs Director and longtime Pullman resident Karen Weathermon on a downtownish walking tour of some of Pullman thrift shops—Cooper’s Legacy Foundation Resale Shop, Lily Bee’s Consignment Shop, Monarch Boutique, Michelle’s Closet, Dregs, and Brused Books. We’ll also stop at the A Modern Plantsman and Neill Public Library. Wear comfortable shoes and bring along money for a stop at Neill’s Coffee and Ice Cream Shop.
