“Fear less, do more” (lecture by Michelle Poler)

November 13, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Presented in the CUB Junior Ballroom

This presentation will address your own soonish future by changing your perception of fear and inspiring you to take action. Michelle Poler’s humorous and inspiring speaking style has been captivating audiences across the globe. Using authentic storytelling, engaging visuals, and drawing from her “100 Days Without Fear” project, Poler shows how to challenge your comfort zone to tap into your full potential. One of her key findings lies in Abraham Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” where she uncovered how needs not only motivate us, but they also limit us. Born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela, Poler is a social entrepreneur, keynote speaker, fear facer, and branding strategist. She is the founder of the “Hello Fears” social movement. Sponsored by the Division of Student Affairs as part of its mental health unit. Verification of attendance for Common Reading credit is available.
