September is Hunger Action Month, and it is also the start of our year-long consideration of issues of food, hunger, and food insecurity in conjunction with WSU’s use of How the Other Half Eats as the 2024-2025 WSU common reading book. Come see this 2019 film by Geeta Gandbhir that puts these issues squarely in the context of campus life through its exploration about the growing number of students at U.S. universities so financially strapped by tuition that they don’t have enough money to eat—and what college campuses can do to address this hunger crisis.
