This year’s MLK Community Celebration focuses on the theme of the Next Generation of Social Justice. Keynote speaker Shaun King is one of many voices—though an increasingly prominent voice—within the movement for Black Lives. By using social media to highlight, amplify, and discuss news of police brutality, racial discrimination, and other civil rights issues, King has become an indispensable source for extending conversations about social justice and equality.  This celebration also includes the presentation of the 2018 MLK Distinguished Service Awards to campus and community winners.
