Ronald Walsworth, senior physicist at Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics, leads an interdisciplinary research group that develops precision measurement tools and applies them to problems in both the physical and life sciences. At this distinguished colloquium for physics and astronomy, Walsworth will describe some of the applications from his lab, from searching for Earth-like planets to solving such down-to-Earth problems as health, security, and navigation.
