Jay Inslee, governor of Washington since 2013, is a strong advocate of policies that transition away from fossil fuels and toward a clean energy economy. He is the author of Apollo’s Fire: Igniting America’s Clean Energy Economy (2007), and he has recently announced as a candidate for the 2020 US presidential race with climate change as his primary issue.
