Wesley Hamilton on “Disabled, But Not Really”

April 2, 2021 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Wesley Hamilton will give the keynote talk for the 2021 Disability Awareness Symposium’s focus on Fitness for All: Inclusive Fitness and Sport.  After a spinal cord injury left him paralyzed from the waist down in his early 20s, Hamilton transformed himself into a national cross-fit athlete, entrepreneur, and speaker who shares his perspective on life and how everyone can find their passion. As the Executive Director of the organization Disabled But Not Really (DBNR), Hamilton advocates for the disabled community by raising awareness about spinal cord injury, promoting mental and physical wellness, and engaging diverse audiences through local and national events. Wesley was also a featured hero on Netflix’s Queer Eye, Season 4.  Hosted by the Access Center and the Disabled Students and Allies Club. Registration for this event and other Disability Awareness Symposium events can be found on the WSU Access Center website
