Luis Alberto Urrean talk on “The House of Broken Angels” (2019 Everybody Reads)

November 14, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

A 2005 Pulitzer Prize finalist for nonfiction, and a member of the Latino Literature Hall of Fame, the author is the critically acclaimed and best-seller of 17 books, winning numerous awards for his poetry, fiction, and essays. Born in Tijuana to a Mexican father and American mother, Urrea is most recognized as a border writer, though he says, “I am more interested in bridges, not borders.” His latest novel, The House of Broken Angels (2018), tells the story of one Mexican-American family through the last days of its patriarch. As the 2019 author for the Everybody Reads program across the Palouse, Urrea will be speaking at many locations, November 12-15. For more on his visit, as well links to a discussion guide, see “Everybody Reads PNW”.
