Zack Rago, a young evolutionary biologist and self-professed “coral nerd” who is featured in the documentary Chasing Coral, will give the keynote talk for Earth Week. Rago’s work with the documentary filmmakers forms the central heart of the 2017 film as audiences experience the devastation to ocean environments through his eyes. For his work in that film Rago was recently honored as a Sea Hero by Scuba Diving magazine. He has also recently helped to document an entirely new species of coral. Rago’s talk is sponsored by the ASWSU Environmental Sustainability Alliance, which will host a reception following the talk. Rago will also hold a press conference with students in Murrow 242 from 4-5 pm. Verification of attendance available for the talk.
