“Empowered to Rise: Acknowledging My Multiple Identities”

November 4, 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm

Author and mental health/human rights activist Jose Rosario, will share his personal story and discuss how acknowledging his identities as a Latino, gay man, who utilizes a wheelchair changed the ways he engages in advocacy and clinical work. Each individual has intersecting identities that must be considered in order to promote healing. Audience members will consider their identities and how this impacts their work. Above all, Rosario seeks to make clear that stories and power and being vulnerable allows us to connect. Hosted by the WSU Access Center and Disabled Students and Allies Club.
