From Where I Sit: Perspectives on Race and Justice

Omari Amili (author, advocate, and educator who was formerly incarcerated) and Victoria Platt (Chief Judge in Newark Municipal Court, New Jersey) will discuss how perspectives of justice vary depending upon where people are positioned in the criminal justice system. Hosted by the Foley Institute and Alpha Phi Sigma, Black Student Union, Black Women’s Caucus, Criminal Justice Graduate Student Association, the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology, Department of Sociology, Program in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, School of Languages, Cultures, and Race, and the School of Politics, Philosophy, and Public Affairs
