History of Civil Rights in the Tri-Cities—Past and Present

Robert Bauman and Robert Franklin (History, WSU-TC) will give a presentation on the history of African-American activism in the Tri-Cities from the 1940s-1970s, highlighting efforts to end racial segregation. The presentation is based on Bauman and Franklin’s forthcoming WSU Press book, Echoes of Exclusion and Resistance: Voices from the Hanford Region. They will be joined by Reka Robinson, Daishaundra Loving-Hearne, and Naima Chambers-Smith, all of whom are racial justice activists in the Tri Cities. Hosted by WSU Tri-Cities Community Classroom Series.
