This Case is My Story: The Supreme Court Argument to Preserve DACA

March 2, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

On November 12, 2019, Luis Cortes, a 2013 graduate of the University of Idaho College of Law, argued for the continuation of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program before the United State Supreme Court. In arguing before the highest court of the land, Cortes brought not only his legal skill as an expert in immigration law but also his crucial perspective as a DACA recipient himself. Cortes will share his personal experience as a DACA recipient, his experience as one of the lead attorneys on the case, and the important impact this case will have—in and outside the courts–for the estimated 800,000 DACA recipients who await its ruling. Cosponsored by the Pullman League Women Voters, the Crimson Group, and the Common Reading Program.

Verification of attendance available.
