January 17, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Each year, the WSU and greater Pullman community gather to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and to affirm the importance of a diverse and equitable society. This year’s keynote speaker, Ibram X. Kendi, is a New York Times bestselling author, professor of history at American University, and the founding director of the Antiracist Research and Policy Center. His book, Stamped from the Beginning: The Definitive History of Racist Ideas in America, was awarded the 2016 National Book Award.  A book signing will follow the event. This event also features the awarding of the 2019 MLK Distinguished Service Awards and performances by God’s Harmony, Krimson Kouture, and the 2019 Campus Civic Poet.  Verification of attendance available.
