Nina Olson on “Taxpayer Rights, Taxpayer Advocates, and Trust in the Tax System”

February 15, 2022 @ 4:45 pm - 5:45 pm

The wealth of the top 1% has grown dramatically relative to the wealth of the working poor. At the same time, IRS audit rates on the working poor have increased so that this group is audited about as frequently as the top 1%. Is anything wrong with this picture? And, if so, how can it be fixed? Nina Olson is the executive director of the Center for Taxpayer Rights and was the principal author of the Taxpayer Bill of Rights enacted as federal law in 2019. This event is hosted by the Thomas S. Foley Institute and the WSU Hoops Institute of Taxation Research and Policy. Attend in person at Spark G45 or via YouTube Live at https://youtu.be/ROr5TwcxMjo .
